I’m just hard on stuff!
My momma used to say I was hard on shoes, hard on clothes, hard on cars…it just seemed like I was always needing to replace whatever I had. When I purchased my iPhone one of the first things people adamantly encouraged me to purchase was the otterbox protective case for the iPhone.
They used the fear of irretrievable loss and damage to drive me to invest in the case for protection saying, “You don’t want to end up damaging your precious prized possession. It will cost too much to replace.” Sure, that all makes sense so I purchased the bulky otterbox to protect the phone. Got a cool color, but still the protective covering hid the original design of the sleek, black trimmed digital device that is advertised everywhere and compels everyone to purchase. Nobody advertises with the protective covering if you notice. Probably because we’re not attracted to safety.
Moving my story along, i have somehow dogged the rubber outer covering that is outside of the hard plastic case. And the hard plastic case has a screen protector that is clear but you have to keep cleaning it to SEE the display clearly! Now that I have taken the phone out of the cover in order to use my warranty that covers the withered away and damaged protective covering, I am mesmerized by the sheer raw beauty of the iPhone. And while it is fragile and can provoke caution and anxiety because I have to take extra care with it, I just noticed the brilliance of the images and pictures today while playing a game. Heck of a lot better visual display than looking through a plastic screen protector. It’s as if I was getting nothing hiding the device in the otterBOX!
Just like you’re getting nothing hiding in YOUR otterBOX!
Is your life in the otterBOX? You probably have good reason for it to be; so I’m not criticizing you for that. I am saying that the picture gets a lot clearer and much more enjoyable when you take yourself out of the otterBOX! Sure you, like me, are probably are hard on life and people can be hard on your life too. But as precious and fragile as life is, there may be a blessing in you removing the outer shell and learning how to take more care with your Personal-da(PDA) instead of keeping it stuck in that rubber encased, hard shell (that eventually wears out anyway).
We lose the beauty of fragility always trying to ensure we won’t lose and injure what ultimately is not always meant to last forever.
Recall that our grandparents used to put plastic on all the furniture; plastic runners on the carpet; that beautifully furnished room in the house where nobody dares to go; that gorgeous expensive china nobody eats on; that dress/that suit you rarely wear!
Take a risk and take LIFE out of the otterBOX. Yeah you have a lot to lose IF it drops… ( I simply cannot resolve that for you…)
