God, do not USE me…Part 2

One of the definitions for use is to take advantage of to employ:use as a means of. I am aware that my argument only picks on one use of the word, but my point persists that YOU (the reader) do not find yourself in communication with people you love and respect, requesting to be USED by them, nor would you say back to God- OH GOD let me use you, even though sometimes we act like that is what we are saying.

So it is true that God is sovereign and He owns and has rights to possession of everything and every being! YET Also, He is the lover of my soul and I am His bride. I don’t think we do a really good job of living here in this truth: No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing. But I have called you friends for all things that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you (which SN: is probably the reason that Jesus hasn’t been directly informed of His imminent return-He’s such a great friend, He can’t keep a secret! LOL)

Then He concludes the invitation to shift from Slave(object) to Friend(relationship) by saying…You did not choose me but I chose and appointed you.-SIGH OF RELIEF! John 15:15

It’s so much easier to live in this world of “Jesus just use me” because it keeps us free of responsibility and satisfies this curious need that we as believers have to be perceived as nothing, unworthy maggots, pawns in the game: naughty boys and girls. However we deny the irreversible work of Father and His expectation that redemption through the cross has justified us and made us Holy as He is Holy! AND the authority that comes with that! The wrath of God has been satisfied, so why do we continue living like He still has aught with us?

What is man that thou art mindful of Him? Get over it, He likes opening your car doors, buying you flowers, and leaving you love notes! You don’t generally do that for people you are using-If you do that’s called manipulation and control tactics.#GodisjustthatintoYOU

So, I get it. I want the Lord’s purposes to be accomplished through my life and for Him to express His worth through me: that’s possibly what people are trying to communicate. But, humbly I ask don’t do it without me! Pick me, choose me to be your side-kick! I’m not some lifeless hammer. I have a vested interest in seeing your will be done and THY KINGDOM COME! Jesus, my vested interest is you.

I want His life and His expression to flow through me so that I may not simply be used like some ordinary, convenient receptacle, but TRANSFORMED by His life and being flowing through me: uniquely fashioned, formed, and thought of for His specific intention. I want to be apart of this process, and I think God is okay with that. Isaiah doesn’t reply to the triune divine council of God, Oooo Oooo God, USE ME! No it’s SEND ME, I’ll go. INCLUDE ME-the language of inclusion. I’m not just some work horse to Him. He has more value for my life than I sometimes exhibit, to my detriment I have discovered the discrepancy.

So I’d rather pray God use the gifts and everything in me. I’m available and at your full discretion for pleasure. Use me if you must, Transform me: if you will! Send me, I’ll go.
