Receive him, receive her…”TO THE GLORY OF GOD”

It’s been awhile. I’ll spare you the sweet, pleasants and get right down to what’s inspired me today! 😉 Have you read this scripture…in awhile. Happy conviction has fallen on me. What is happy conviction? Well it is NOT the kind where you feel like a wretch, unworthy, tie me to the stake and burn me until I’m nothing but ashes (the saints are martyrs! LOL). It’s the kind where you say, I’m so glad I discovered this; I accept I it; I embrace it; I affirm it. I know I will live better because of this encounter with TRUTH.
I have a reason to regard others more highly than I have before and that makes me smile. I have discovered once again the passion that Christ has for His creation; the love of the Father that is so rich and enduring that it’s almost impossible to tell where He ends and you and I begin! Now. hold on…I’m going to read THE BIBLE (expression borrowed from Graham Cooke)

Romans 15:2 “Let every one of us PLEASE HIS NEIGHBOR for his good to build him up.” See, there! Out the window of the galaxies goes that “Long as I got king Jesus…just me and Jesus, don’t need nobody else theology!”

Can you believe that we should be seeking not only the good, but pursuing pleasing our neighbor’s good.” God has built in safe-guards for us to always feel his loving-kindness with us at all times. Wow, I’m so sorry that I have not lived in the light of this truth. I’ve been missing a lot. How about you?

This is the part that became a highlight for me as a worshipper and ADVOCATE for the ONE is worshipped and for those he seeketh! Romans 15:5 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to (the example of) Christ Jesus (The example is pointed out in vs 3-4.)

Romans 15:6 That ye may with ONE mind and ONE mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 7 Wherefore recevie ye one another, as Christ also received us (SELAH) (Cory’s note: how did-does he receive us?) To the glory of God (PERIOD).

It’s undeniable the UNITY and ONENESS that always invites the manifesting presence and blessing of God’s presence. Check your worship atmosphere to make sure this element is there: 1Mind 1Mouth which is accomplished in our relationship with others.

The next time i shout glory to God, I have to reflect on how I’ve been handling my relationship with others. Have i handled them as the Glory of God. Yes, your annoying boss, and the friend who gossips about others (and implicitly you know is gossiping about you LOL) and the son who continues to rebel and the husband who won’t value you the way you ought to…hard relationship circumstances I know. I’m not expecting you to just suck it up and be abused…No, don’t misunderstand me. I’m just saying when you get down to the core of them, we ought to receive and handle and understood and regard them as Christ did and does with us smack in the middle of our imperfection..He looked on us in our sleazy condition (that’s my story at least) and INHALED and said, “Cory, the Glory of God.”

I hope you can see what this has to do with WORSHIP. Not just that thing we do for a few hours on Sunday Morning. Listen to how the ESV postures this thought:

“May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such HARMONY with one another in acCORD with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one VOICE GLORIFY the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This is how with our living we generate the sound of worship, the ONE VOICE that glorifies God..by living in Harmony with one another and in accord (Eflat, Csharp, F,G or whatever chord you prefer). I hope this enhances your worship experience forevermore. That missing element you may sense sometimes may be your need to receive someone TO THE GLORY OF GOD!

I had a talk / the Lord about the same issue, and told Him I will treat those I encounter like He would treat. Kinda what you are saying , but you phased it like how God sees us/ God’s glory on us.or / Jesus’s blood on us. Truly love the way you break things down so it is easily understood.Hearing your heart/ my ear.Thank You Min. Cory

      Mama Rhodes,

Always such a joy to hear your feedback and to hear your Amen! Yes, you aptly stated what I am saying: Treating others not just the way I want to be treated, but the way that Christ treats them. Some writers have said, Loving others in the interest of Christ. I have such a ways to go to fulfill this, but I desperately desire to know this dimension of love. Thanks for an ear to hear.
