From my journey to South Africa August 2010. There were several amazing experiences and sounds that I will forever have connected to my soul and my spirit. Here are some of those.
The first couple of clips were from our worship experience with the South African church of Siloam in Johannesburg. We rehearsed with them a little before the service that night and the nations merged beautifully. I’m getting some additional footage from that experience to share with you. Here’s a taste of it. I was with my brother from New Birth-Atlanta, Bernard Williams.
OKAY…I ADMIT. My singing on this clip is a total distraction. I was struggling to find the notes and sing the tunes. All I knew was that I wanted to be apart of the worship experience. Bishop Long ministered to the African Christian Democratic Party at the Gauteng Legislature and they opened with worship…without a worship leader telling them that they had to! I was beside myself (as you will be able to tell.) So please forgive the off tones and such…if you need redemption, check out one of the other clips: I’m so not insecure. But I will say, this is okay because there are countless people in the pews in churches across America for whom this is your experience. You can’t find the tune with super-goggles but I encourage you keep on singing till you get it or until God is satisfied. I’m sure God was tickled as I attempted to sing the Zulu language…Surely Holy Spirit interpreted! LOL I hope you can appreciate the sounds they released over my own.
THIS CLIP right here!!! GEESH. This brother was singing up a storm. I believe they were singing “He touched me.” But “I ain’t heard nothin’ like this in my life”. His sound was like WOW! So I taped as long as I could. Be amazed…so proud to be AFRICAN! These brothers are singing. This was recorded at Apostle Sithole’s Church: Oasis.
It’s really a nice and helpful piece of information. I’m glad that you shared this helpful info with us. Please keep us informed like this. Thanks for sharing.
